Ronald Stamps loves his new job, now that he’s retired. Ronald retired from the Flint Fire Department after almost 24 years of service. Not content to be idle, he took advantage of government job training assistance to military veterans through the Veterans Re-Education Assistance Program.
“Although I have always had a curiosity about electronics my first choice for training was in Network Security. I settled on Electronics because of VRAP requirements, and I couldn’t be happier,” he said. Ronald earned a degree in Electronics and Electrical Technology and has worked full time since his graduation. “However, being a retiree, I prefer the flexibility of contract or project work.”
Impressed with the facilities and equipment students had access to at Mott, Ronald called them “the best I had seen anywhere. We were fortunate to have access to top-of-the-line tools and the people who understood them.”
“I didn’t know much about this field when I started, but the longer I work in technology, the more I appreciate the way the program was put together,” he said. “The MCC Electronics program is a great fit for someone looking for training that will give them great career opportunities.”
